At least I would if I could remember what it looks like! Adelaide is still having, on the whole, grey, miserable days. Wet, dull and dreary. So we’ll turn to face the sun metaphorically speaking, pull our socks up and move onwards.
The past week has been emotionally, and physically horrendous. Extreme stress to the point that it has made me sick. I walked into work on Thursday morning, and my boss greeted me with, “Good morning – why do you look like crap?” Oh well, hardly having slept for 4 or 5 nights in a row and that’s just for starters.
However, today I managed to get something creative done. I finished a couple of layouts, one of which I’ll show you today, another one is an old one from last week. I’ve had such a dry spell, but this afternoon, the work just flowed off the end of my mouse. It was so easy! It felt good.
On the home front, this week mission successful to 1) rearrange our lounge room, including getting a new bookcase for dvd’s and games. 2) Tyson’s room makeover is complete with a small bookcase for him as well. 3) operation shed cleanout is continuing with 4 boxes of books donated to a local community 2nd hand book shed and 2 boxes dropped off at the local opshop. 4) I have broken down into the recycling a few more empty boxes from the shed, but the recycling bin is only emptied every 2 weeks, and I do need to leave room for things like bottles and jars. Unfortunately. So I have to stockpile the boxes. I think I’ll still be recycling them next year!
Next on the list of things to do is get some more framed pictures hung up in the bedroom, and organise some prints for newly freed up wall space in the lounge room. I know what I want and I know where, I just have to organise it!
So what projects are you all up to over the spring cleaning/autumn organising period?
Thanks everyone for your nice words of congratulation and encouragement. And yes, it’s that easy and more of you lovely people should give it a try!!
I discovered this little treasure trying to get my scrapping back into gear. I created it last month, and can you believe, never uploaded it!?! Well, you can bet I have now! Now lets see if I can create a new layout as well
I’ve even got the Beethoven Sonatas going to try to get some creativity flowing. Although I have to admit, I’ve been a lot more creative in my photography of recent.
I am taking this chance to work hard on preparing for my very own Etsy shop, selling my images. I love them, many visitors comment on them, and I think that the world is ready to share them too! So stay tuned. I need to organise sizes, prints etc, and then I’ll launch on a gloriously unsuspecting public!
Now it’s time to go to bed
Work tomorrow. Saving the world, one photograph at a time
While I was blurfing yesterday, I came across these 2 articles and wanted to share them.
I love photography. I love everything about it, from the shooting, to post-processing, to hanging on the wall the final product. Unlike my father, I have many albums. All our holidays go in them, and we all love going through them and enjoying the trip long after we got home.
However, the part of photography I struggle with is inspiration. Keeping it fresh. Hopefully these links will help me, and everyone else out there who is also looking for inspiration…..
Dps, (digital photography school), I have subscribed to their blog for ages. Lots of great information, challenges etc…

Following that article, I ended up at the Epic Edits site, which was new to me. This article caught my attention, as I love to photograph flowers, but they had lots more to offer as well. Well worth a look. Everything is illustrated with stunning photograph examples!

I have also been busy scrapping, which I need to share with you.
I’m very excited to be a Pixel Sprite, back scrapbooking for Michelle Godin, aka Pixelworks again. She has her own store, but mainly sells through Scrapartist. It’s a total dream to be working for a designer there, as it was my first real digi-site when I began, back in the day.
She’s got some great stuff out, and coming out…. here’s what I’ve created so far.
Using Funky Junky Old School

Using Big City Boy
Using the brand new No Place Like Home with Heaven’s Gate Designs
Shen, and others, have been keeping me busy as well, but you’ll have to check back for the layouts for them!
Let me know if you found the links useful, and I’ll share some more! And maybe even my results from trying them!
Oh my goodness it’s freezing today. Winter is well and truly upon us. South Australia, well, my part of it anyway, has had lots of rain moving through for the last few days. Our nearest weather reading station, about 6km away, has had over 130mm of rain in the last 14 days. And today, not only did it rain most of the day, but it’s been icy cold. I doubt the temperature for the day has gotten over 10 degrees C. *shiver*. Sad to say, I’m not up to fetching wood etc, and haven’t put the fire on yet. I’ve been using the evil air-conditioner. But I’m drying washing in front of it as well, so maybe that makes it a little greener?
I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off as a general rule, so the boys and I went to the movies for cheap Tuesday. We finally saw Night at the Museum 2. Not AS funny as number one, but I think half of the fun of that movie is NOT knowing what was coming. It’s a little predictable this time, but still very enjoyable. We ran some quick errands in the rain, to the bank, to game-traders to rescue the x-box 360 disc that *skip* ruined. Come to think of it, I bought that game for him! But a mere $5 and it’s all better now!
So for the afternoon I’ve been putting on washing, and listening to the boys watching movies. Bolt and Desperaeux. I prefer Bolt myself! Actually, my all-time favourite kids movie is Surf’s Up. Love that movie! I’ve also been blog-hopping and nosing around Ravelry looking for some patterns. I have such a big stash of patterns now, I need to actually finish the socks I started back in June, before I got sick. I’m just past the heel of the first one. My only problem is that it’s looking a bit big. Despite my best attempts, I knit quite loosely. Quite loosely as in, 2 needles sizes too big. But they just don’t make dpn small enough for me to get the right gauge, and *shock horror* to all you knitters out there, life’s too short for a tension swatch. I know I knit loose.
But I blame it on the weather. My eyes are dancing with all these plans for beanies, hand/wrist warmers, even a cowl. And I snaffled a couple of patterns for baby gear, for an upcoming happy event next year. No, not mine!
And finally, score one for natural therapies. I went to see my Homeopath last week, and after the first dose she gave me, my cough was reduced to about 1/4. Overnight. And since then, it’s only gotten better and better. Today was my worst day, and I think that *might* have something to do with the freezing cold weather I was running around in? My chest feels about 90% better. Still stings a little bit when I take a deep breath, but no-where near as painful as it was before. So happy to be feeling back on top of things. Although I’m still getting as much rest on my days off etc, because I don’t want to go back there, no way no how!
So have something pretty to look at to say thankyou for wading through all my chatter!
This is my favourite photo of us, so that makes it my new favourite layout! Enjoy!
Ok, so I probably have over-done it today, the first day that I haven’t felt like death warmed up and served on a plate. But hey, I have about 3 weeks of life to catch up on. I’m back to work tomorrow, which will probably teach me a lesson lol….
Just wanted to post a couple of layouts quickly that I managed to miss before.
The first one is an old one I entirely forgot to post, so I did it this evening and made it to the DST Gallery Standouts Thread! Very excited about that. The old girl’s still got it apparently!
This layout I just plain love! Funny, but I never wear yellow anymore!
Here’s one of boys, being boys! Great kit Jess!
And my rock and hero. Especially this last week when I’ve been so sick.
But wait, there’s more!
During the not so successful business trip to Sydney a week ago, we made time to go check out the Aquarium. Got some great pictures, which I’ve started uploading onto Flickr
Ok, that’s me for the night. Believe it or not, there are still more layouts to be uploaded, but why spoil you all at once! Got to keep you coming back for more!
And nothing posted for a month! This poor neglected thing!
I have been busy though. I’ve re-discovered flickr and the wonderful variety and community that exists on there. I have gotten into vintage film cameras, which is a lot of fun, as long as you don’t mind too much when it doesn’t work out lol….
We went on holiday over the Easter break, more of that I’m sure.
And just because I can, I’ve got some layouts for you all!
Ok, so I have to go heat dinner up now, but I’ll be back really soon with a proper update, and hopefully some more layouts!!
Ok, so the long hours and tired Cassie continue on without letup. However, we have to add dial-up speeds to the mix now too, as the ever-loving *skip* accidentally went over our bandwidth for the month. 5 days to go before it gets reset!
Meanwhile, here are some layouts that are long overdue for blogging.
Meanwhile, there are still 3 more waiting proper uploading on my hard-drive, chasing down credits etc…. Hopefully a nice job for tomorrow. I get 2 days off out of 9 days this week and I’m going to make the most of them! Right now I’m off to watch some TV with my honey and have a well-earned break!
This time of year is always crazy with work, and juggling the school holidays around that.
So far for the holidays we have been to the Musuem to see an exhibition on baby Dinosaurs and Dinosaur eggs. It was very interesting, but a bit hard to take it all in. Sadly, they didn’t see fit to publish a book/guide that we could take home to remember all the cool stuff that we saw. Disappointing.
We have also been to the movies, to see Madagascar 2. To be perfectly honest with you, for me, it was a let-down. Haven’t actually discussed a movie review with *skip* yet, but I think he and the boys enjoyed it.
The boys also got to camp out last week. We have “inherited” my Dad’s wonderful old camping trailer, which he and my brothers BUILT many moons ago. It’s still in excellent working order, and we are going away in it next week hopefully. We had to set it up to make sure that everything was working, go through all the cupboards and work out what we need/what’s missing etc. We would like to set it up as a sort of permanent ready to go thing, so I’ll get some op-shop pans and tea-towels etc, and just leave it all in there, ready to go. Aaahhhh the freedom. So anyway, the boys decided that they wanted to sleep in it, all by themselves, 2 nights last week. They loved it, although they weren’t impressed when I informed them that when we are ALL away in it, they will be sharing the end bed. I am NOT sleeping on the table just so they can have their own “space” hehehehe……
It was a bit nervewracking… not to mention such a big growing up move. I mean, they were out there, on their OWN. I didn’t sleep very well waiting to hear them come in crying or scared or hurt or cold or something… but finally around 2 am I fell asleep (they’d been asleep for over 4 hoursĀ at that point!) and the next thing I knew, it was morning and they were coming in to the house to get breakfast, to take it back out to the van to eat. Wow!
So, what else have we been up to? Not a lot. Had a couple of friend’s over for a long overdue dinner last night. We were going to get yummy Indian takeaway, but the Indian shop is shut until after new years, so we had to have yummy gourmet pizza instead. Oh, the humanity….
I have got some layouts for you to enjoy as well… I haven’t taken any new photos for a while, hopefully that will change soon with a trip away

We also had a very successful present day this year, I’ll have to share some of those with you soon
But right now, I just heard that our booking is confirmed, so I had better get my skates on and start sorting out what we are taking away with us and what is getting stored into the shed…… This is very exciting, it’s the start, hopefully, of a new tradition for our family. Some new memories to be made!!
Hehehe gratuitous Nemo quote there…. did you like it? Life has been Like Whoa… and then we were like whoa, and then……
I got sick Monday night with a disgusting sore throat coughing thing. Worked Tuesday, begged Wednesday off because I knew that there would be no way I could get Thursday off and figured it was not looking good at that stage. Worked Thursday and Friday, loaded to the gills with painkillers, strepsils, hot honey and lemon, echinacea, and cup after cup of tea… So we got to the weekend, and I could crash for a bit. And get some scrapping done
School is winding up at the moment. Both of the boys have managed to get involved in “drama club” and they have 2x weekly rehearsals until the 2 performances. Both of them on REALLY bad nights for us, so we are not amused. They also have some end of year excursions coming up, movies, swimming etc. The school also schedules the annual swimming lessons for the very end of the year… it’s more reliable with the weather, but I’m still not convinced. This will be the first year that Sam is going to the big pool and I’m a trifle anxious. He won’t drown, I’m sure, but he gets chilled instantly when he gets in the water, and will just stay blue and shivery for hours. I used to have to make sure I went to every school lesson, so that I could rub him dry afterwards, because the teachers just didn’t have the resources to manage it. We’ll have to see about this year.
Ok, *skip* just finished with an online emergency at work… yes. At 11pm on a Sunday night. So it’s off to bed. Have some gorgeous layouts to keep you amused for a while….. I have been on a scrapping ROLL lately!
Sadly, I have to say goodbye to The Scrap Space. But I got to love wordpress, so I moved in here to my new home. I know that I am a slack blogger, but sometimes I have something to say, or something to share
I am still ironing out some kinks, will have to re-import a mountain of my layouts that it will not transfer over, so pictures may come and go for a while, but you’ll manage, somehow.
New blog, new look. Trying to show my new focus – more on simple living and living consciously. I love that term. Being more aware about myself, my patterns, my impact.
So, onĀ with the show!
And if you could, please let me know that you found me here. Otherwise I’ll have to hunt you all down and tickle you until you change your bookmarks!
